Homecoming Olympics 2023
Encounter Youth Group
Encounter Youth meets every Wednesday night during the school year from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The group is open to teens attending 6th through 12th grade. Our vision is love God; build teens; change lives. We strive to connect teens with the Lord through the following areas: Connect, Grow, Serve, Go and Worship.
Connect: Teens will connect with the Lord through fellowship, personal devotions, Spirit-empowered discipleship, worship, prayer, Bible lessons and fun. In turn teens will develop connections with other believers and develop a desire to connect others in the community to Jesus.
Encounter Youth is much more than Wednesday evening services. Teens will have the opportunity to join in on summer camp, Encounter Youth Convention, Fine Arts, and other discipleship opportunities throughout the course of the year.
Grow: Teens will understand God’s love for them through Spirit-empowered discipleship and apply spiritual disciplines in their daily lives.
Serve: Teens will discover their spiritual giftings and talents and use those through service in the Church and ministering to community.
Go: Teens who love God will in turn develop a love for others who do not attend church. They will be challenged to go make disciples in the community and the world through personal evangelism, missions and relationships.
Worship: Teens will experience worship time on Wednesday nights and be challenged to incorporate the same worship in their daily lives.
There is also an Encounter Youth Facebook page where you can get update information and notifications.
Youth Camp 2023
Glad Tidings Encounter Youth attended Youth Camp 1 on June 25th, 2023. This year's camp theme was Level Up. This year's speakers were Holly and Troy Davis. Holly is the Director for Fine Arts with the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri. Troy works with Convoy of Hope. Students participated in worship and heard sermons on salvation, going all in, identity, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. Students also participated in a one hour service on evangelizing to fellow classmates. This one hour service was provided by Wyoming Youth Alive. As a result, students went home with a Fire Bible.
In between services, students participated in Rec Competitions. Competitions featured games such as Hungry Hungry Hippo, Steal the Bacon and Capture the Flag.
Camp is a memorable event for those who attend. Students who attend get a deeper foundation to their faith in Jesus. They also build lifelong friendships with other students across the state.
We thank everyone for their prayers. We look forward to taking more for Camp 2024!
